Serip Groupe began in 1958, when Joaquim Pires’ father left Portugal during the Salazar era and settled in France, working on major infrastructure projects such as bridges, roads, and tunnels. A few years later, the family moved to Sainte Maxime, where he returned to his original craft, building villas.

From an early age, Joaquim knew he wanted to study architecture. At 16, after his father suffered a serious accident, he had to leave school earlier than planned, but his determination never changed. At 19, he founded his first company, with his father, once recovered, as his first employee.

His first contract as an entrepreneur was the construction of a villa of more than 150 square metres, the starting point of a long career designing and delivering hundreds of high quality residential and landscape projects.

Building the Secured Wall

The construction of the secured perimeter wall marked the first major transformation of the estate. Rising between two and three meters in height, this reinforced concrete structure established privacy, exclusivity, and protection from the very beginning. Carefully engineered and precisely executed, it defined the physical and symbolic boundaries of the development. Beyond its security function, the wall created a sense of sanctuary, separating the future villas from the surrounding environment while preserving open views toward the Ria Formosa and the city of Faro. This milestone set the tone for a private, refined residential community built with intention and long term vision.
